Originally, my name was written as Moo Ge Ga to better match its Hangul symbols of 무지개, where each symbol represents one syllable of my name (Moo-gee-gay).

This rendition, however, became all too confusing for many (it was mistaken for a middle name, even on my birth certificate, which was never corrected) and was thus merged to Moogega.

Moogega, or 무지개 means Rainbow in the Korean language. Assured that I was not named after the design on my pillow and sheets, the next reason which comes to mind is to pay tribute to my Korean half. Either way, I strive each day to live up to my name as a colorful optical phenomena.
